100 Years of Koelnmesse

With the motto “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow – Koelnmesse connects”, movendi creates the common thread for the entire event. Guests are invited on a journey through time, starting with entertainment from the 1920s at the reception and ending with futuristic walk acts at the closing get-together.

The transition from the impressive foyer of the new CONFEX to the event hall is marked by an exhibition set up as a “time tunnel”.

The highlight is the 100-minute ceremony directed by Thomas Bruchhäuser: Here, too, the motto forms the dramaturgical framework for 3 show blocks, in which “live” and “digital” worlds merge to create a multimedia spectacle. The three-part stage, specially designed for this purpose, makes this extraordinary interplay of live music, dance, acrobatics, various film clips and speeches possible in the first place. The entertainer Chris Brow skillfully leads through the tailor-made production.

At the subsequent get-together, where international delicacies from Johan Lafer take guests on a culinary journey to koelnmesse's locations around the world, everyone agrees: “That was the most entertaining and at the same time most interesting anniversary reception we have ever experienced!”
